0-6 months
If you’re breastfeeding:
- Breast pump (1)
- Bottle warmer (1)
- Bottle / sealable bag to store breastmilk (4)
- Breastpads (1-2 pairs per day)
- Nursing clothes (3)
What you think you need, but in fact you don’t (because you’re just going on vacation, not moving the entire house):
- Ice pack / cooler bag (pump and warm only at home/hotel, store in the fridge. Nurse when you’re on the way. Please, make it simple)
6-7 months (Puree)
At this time, babies usually still eat puree.
- Boon Squirt Dispensing Spoon (2) — works as magic for me
- Bibs (2-3)
- Drinking water bottle with spout (1)
What you think you need, but in fact you don’t (because you’re just going on vacation, not moving the entire house):
- Blender (borrow, or order the puree from the restaurant)
- Just for vacation, I usually don’t make homemade puree. I use instant one which only needs boiled water. So you won’t need any stove & pan, but if you’re at someone else’s home, you can cook.
8-9 months (Poridge-texture)
Each baby development is different. This point is when your baby has already had poridge-texture food, regardless of the age.
- Microwave safe food containers (2-3)
- Spoon & fork (2 sets)
- Drinking water bottle with spout (1)
- Slow cooker (optional)
What you think you need, but in fact you don’t (because you’re just going on vacation, not moving the entire house):
- If you’re staying at hotel, boil some food (such as sweet potato, potato, etc), chop/smash it, add some milk, then voila! Ready to serve for your baby.
- Order some poridge from the restaurant (without MSG), separate the meat (if any), place it in 2 different food containers, then voila! You can use it for lunch and dinner.
10-11 months (finger food)
Each baby development is different. This point is when your baby has already had bit-sized or finger food, regardless of the age.
- Microwave safe food containers (2-3)
- Spoon & fork (2 sets)
- Water bottle with straw (1)
- Small microwave/oven-safe glassware for steaming (2)
What you think you need, but in fact you don’t (because you’re just going on vacation, not moving the entire house):
- Tips: mix in the glassware for egg, minced meat, chopped vegetables (carrot, broccoli, etc) with some sesame oil, steam it, then voila! You have lunch and dinner!
- Steamer (borrow, or ask the hotel to steam the mixture for you).
11+ months (table food)
Each baby development is different. This point is when your baby has already had table food, regardless of the age.
- Microwave safe food containers (2-3)
- Spoon & fork (2 sets)
- Water bottle with straw (1)
This stage is supposed to be easy, she can join you to eat food from the restaurant (with no MSG) or eat the homemade food.
