Watermark Hotel & Spa Jimbaran Bali is one world-class hotel located in Jimbaran, Bali. It also has other locations before Bali, which are in Japan and Brisbane, Australia. Wondering how it’s like, we stay there for 2 nights and have enjoyed almost all facilities it has. Here is our Watermark Bali Hotel Jimbaran Review.
General
If you are looking for a beach front hotel, you might think this is not good option. BUT, please read this post till the end because after we stay there, we are definitely no longer care about that point.
If thinking carefully, what is the main consideration of when you book a hotel? Above all, it’s hospitality. Without good service, and attentive staff, your vacation would go no where although you have the best view on the top of the world.
In fact, when we travel a lot, we usually stroll around and not spend too much time in the hotel. However, 75% of my “Happiness” index depends on service of the place I’m staying:
You can scroll to my previous post about our stay in Ubud when the electricity & genset was down in a very hot weather for 3.5 hours. Instead of fulfilling our imagination about taking a good rest in a cool air-con room after checking in, we chose to go around the traffic with car just to waste the spare-time until the electricity is on. Fixing the broken lamp in our bathroom takes 3 hours to complete. We then missed the concert we’d like to see due to exhaustion, and finally order pizza delivery as dinner. I really hate it when I remember that unpleasant experience.
But I can say that, Watermark Hotel & Spa Bali Jimbaran definitely has everything to make you feel comfortably staying in it. All staffs are very friendly and very attentive. They really care about the customers, and as far as I remember, they always smile 🙂 A sincere smile always makes my heart warm though.
The second best is that they have so so so many facilities, including free 50 items you can rent for free (so, it’s actually ‘borrow’ instead of ‘rental’), including: uno, othello, mosquito electric, bicycle, baby chair, sand playing set, alqur’an, wheel chair, yoga mat, baby stroller, baby bed, baby bathtub, monopoly, etc. What else can you ask for? More facilities, yes, they have.
Location
- 5 minutes to Ngurah Rai International Airport
- Walking distance to Kedonganan Beach, the famous live seafood BBQ stalls
- Less than 5 minutes to the new high way, 15 minutes to New Kuta Golf and famous Uluwatu Temple
- Walking distance to Benoa Square and local culinary experience
If you’re heading to shopping mall or to the beach, no worries, because they have free shuttle bus to:
- Watermark Beachclub Jimbaran (Kedonganan Beach)
- Beachwalk Mall Kuta
Room
With total 143 rooms & suites, which many of them have pool and garden views. Among many types of room (superior, suite, or even suite with private pool!), we stay in two of the rooms:
Superior Room
It is the basic room which has almost all comfort you need: cable LCD TV, sofa bed, table for eating/working, bathtub, shower, bathrope, wi-fi (FREE in all parts of the hotel), electric kettle, mini bar, luxury amenities (you can see straight away from the packaging), hair dryer, make-up mirror, and BIG WINDOW (totally safe for children, it’s closed) 🙂
What I like about rooms in this hotel is that, since it is owned by the Japanese, all of the interior is very carefully designed. I’m such a fussy about functionality, and in fact, this hotel impressed me! The sofa, is not only a sofa, but you can also sit there to work or to eat since it has the perfect height to fit the small round table in the room. Moreover, the bed-side table (if you pay attention) can be moved and used as a chair! It has the same height with the sofa, so it also fits the table perfectly. Therefore both of us could eat and work together on the same table, facing each other. How can I not love this room? 🙂
Club Watermark Suite Room
Suite room is generally bigger than superior room, and can accommodate more people. It has a spacious wooden living room, daybed on the spacious balcony, which is completely safe for children.
However, Club Watermark Suit Room is an upgrade from Suite Room in terms of:
1. Mineral water dispenser, in addition to electric kettle (to make formula milk faster for baby:p ). It also means that, you’ll have a gallon of complimentary water :p
2. Aromatherapy amenities
3. Coffee maker
4. Microwave (also available in Suite Room)
5. Special privileges to Club Lounge (air-con indoor seating room with tranquil view and all-day refresh drinks such as juice, beers, mocktail, and free light meal [5 PM onwards])
6. One time laundry

Service
The service is outstanding. I can say again and again, as I see this as the main competitive advantage of Watermark hotel & spa Jimbaran. Their internal communication is very good, our needs are taken care attentively, they place customers above everything. Although it is a part of job they MUST do well, but honestly not every hotels can do this.
